About Us
Career Technical Education (CTE), is a learning philosophy that promotes the idea that students can begin learning academic and technical skills in high school, that they will then go on to use in college or the workforce. Students attending the academy are able to engage in a variety of high school experiences and elective course choices while maintaining the CTE educational philosophy, rigorous curriculum, and small school environment of an elite program. Over the years, the academy has worked to create and maintain long-term relationships with industry leaders in the community of Pueblo, which allow our students an opportunity to learn while getting real-world experience.
SEBS is based upon innovation, application, college preparation, and rewarding careers for its students in the society of tomorrow. Students may elect to follow one of three strands of learning; engineering, biomedical science, and creative technology. Regardless of the strand a student goes into, the scope and sequences of courses provide the student with a solid preparation for college, and a foundation for lifelong learning as well as success.

Along with a well-developed curriculum, the strand of choice is complemented by prestigious, nationally recognized extracurricular activities, which allow students to apply the content from the classroom in a competitive setting. Many of our extracurricular activities are student-led, competitive events that build on what students are learning in their classrooms.
This philosophy, coupled with the Project Lead the Way courses and hands-on, learning opportunities has earned our academy a notable reputation for engaging students and setting them up for success. Working in the open-environment of our school, allows students the opportunity to understand that content and skills are not isolated to one learning environment. Students learn to recognize that content from a variety of disciplines is required in order to be successful in the world around them.
