Pueblo County High School students interested in medical careers are getting a head start in the booming industry. Students are receiving a hands-on medical and engineering education as part of the new School of Engineering and Biomedical Sciences program at County. They are learning how to identify a victim through bones and diagnosing diseases, as well as the development of new medical innovations. In addition to being named a National Merit Scholar, Pueblo County High School senior Holly Lakin also received the University of Tulsa’s full-tuition, room-and-board Presidential Scholarship. A 1470 score on the PSAT was high enough to make Lakin a National Merit semi-finalist.
