Technology Student Association
Technology Student Association (TSA) is a student-led, national organization that encourages students to complete projects in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. TSA fosters the growth of social and cooperative skills, as well as skills pertaining to project management which include researching, developing, and manufacturing. Working individually, or with a team, students collaborate with an industry mentor to create a product that is innovative, functioning, and original.
If able to create a quality final product, students have the opportunity to travel to Denver, Colorado to compete at the state level. Students who perform well for industry judges
are then invited to compete at the national level at that year’s national conference. The School of Engineering and Biomedical Science has taken students to nationals over the last three years in Orlando (2017), Atlanta (2018), and Washington D.C. (2019).

Stellar Xplorers
The Stellar Xplorers program is a national high school space system design competition. Teams consist of up to six members and come from all over the United States. The Stellar Xplorers competition is made up of several 6-hour practice and competition rounds where teams design satellite orbits, choose satellite components, calculate fuel, and select launch vehicles.
The purpose is to expose students to the aerospace industry and similar STEM fields. Teams are mentored by a professional in the field, utilize industry standard software called STK, and can even obtain certification that will carry over into a career. Pueblo County High School’s team has competed very well and is on its third year. This past season the team even came in 15th place out of over 150 total teams. |
